PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE THIS MORNING ACROSS THE SHENANDOAH VALLEY…FAR NORTHWEST VIRGINIA AND NORTH CENTRAL MARYLAND. TEMPERATURES ARE COLD ENOUGH THAT THE PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN ALL SNOW. THE SNOW WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES…AND A THUNDERSTORM IS ALSO POSSIBLE. BY THIS EVENING…5 TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED. THE SNOW WILL CONTINUE OVERNIGHT…AND AN ADDITIONAL 6 TO 12 INCHES IS EXPECTED. ON MONDAY…THE SNOW WILL TAPER TO SNOW SHOWERS DURING THE AFTERNOON. BY THE TIME THE SNOW TAPERS OFF…WIDESPREAD SNOWFALL TOTALS OF 1 TO 2 FEET ARE EXPECTED. SOME LOCATIONS…ESPECIALLY OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN MAY SEE UP TO 3 FEET OF SNOW.
