Youve already seen it – shes already brought the rock into your day. This is Emilys first foray into music blogging and Im lucky that she chose to make it here. Especially because I never seem to update anymore. Im a loser. Music blogging is a pretty big deal these days, with labels shooting CDs to the most influential and prolific bloggers the way theyve always done with print journalists & radio DJs. So, yeah, its pretty rad that Ems posting here.
CJ & I went to the SD Wild Animal Park & the SD Zoo on Sunday, which, despite making me get up early and blister in the Escondido heat, were both pretty great. I left my camera in the car for the Zoo (dumb) but got a couple of cool shots at the Wild Animal Park that Ill post here when Ive uploaded them.
The picture above is from the opening party of the Downtown Film Festival on Saturday night, an event that Emily invited us to. Casey & I spent the afternoon up at Zuma beach, then came home, showered, and went downtown for the event. Overall, it was a good weekend.
Tomorrow is the arrival of Jared the Sylva – big things! He hasnt visited since NYC, and that time I sent him home with an orange head. Oh, man that was fun. Anyway, hell be working, but Im sure well find time to debauch at least a little bit. Maybe well make a movie. Well see. Speaking of movies, Ive been editing and editing, and what Im finding is that once the big pieces are put in place, the hours you spend just dont make the product look that different. No one is going to notice unless I show them the before and after, and even then, whos going to care? Me. Russ. Maybe Schmidt.
