Ive been seeing ads for the RSS feeds for websites forever, right? Yeah, so Ive never been much of an RSS subscriber, really. Do RSS feeds really bring people to your pages? Are headlines enough to interest you in content? I use RSS in my custom Google homepage, but Ive been shying away from it recently because it takes longer to load than I want when I hit Google for a quick search (which I still do because I hate seeing my old searches living in the address bar).
Anyway, maybe Im using RSS all wrong. Maybe I should be RSS-ing pages I dont already read every day, rather than having feeds of Slashdot, BBS, Engadget, etc. on there. Then, were a headline to grab me, Id become traffic to a new site.
Does anyone RSS Clapboard? Someone tell me how to optimize my RSS feeds, or tell me that its just another mostly-useless technology that I should streamline out of my life.
