Listen, if you told me the Eagles were going to win two games next season but I could pick those wins, Id pick them both to be against the Cowboys. Honestly. So yesterday was a great day in some respects. In many other respects, it was a travesty. They got into the redzone what, eight times and came away with one touchdown? And dont talk about Westbrooks class-act 1-yard maneuver. That was awesome, and the EIGHTH TIME THEY GOT INTO THE RED ZONE. Not a lot of football players are capable of understanding, in the moment, the fact that their team can easily piss away an 11-point lead in a little more than one and a half minutes and do something to guarantee a win – Westbrook saw that and did something remarkably sensible. Now, not going for the touchdown after that? Hmmm… But whatever.
But how on earth are they going into the red zone seven times in a game and coming away with nothing? How are they playing a team where the QB throws three interceptions and fumbles twice and only winning by four points? Gah.
Of course, the commentators talked about the possibility that McNabb would be traded at the end of this year – a conversation which shocked me. Of course, now we might be better off keeping him and getting high draft picks till 2010, but well see.
I cant rant about the Eagles anymore – Im not at all ready for my NYC trip that starts in about 12 hours.
