Idiocracy with a hint of subtlety. But only a hint.
SPOILERS, fuckers.
I spent the movie rooting for the planet to get destroyed. Like, from almost the very beginning. The weren’t subtle with the redhats (I’ll never not be mad that those fuckers took over a perfectly fine Linux distro, btw), but it seemed almost reverent toward them, which I didn’t love. But, thank god, the earth and everyone on it dies horribly. And, even more depressing (what could be more depressing than 9 billion people dying at once?), a handful of rich assholes survive. Because of course they do.
I liked it. Huge cast, well used. Super depressing story, but what’s NOT depressing these days.
