If you’re reading this, you likely already know, but I went to Chernobyl by way of Kiev, and took some pictures.
There are probably stories I should tell, you know, about how much I liked Kiev and how much I hated the train ride to Moscow and about how great Chernobyl was and about flying a drone in an old nuclear cooling tower, but I don’t know how to fashion those stories right now, so I won’t.
ED: 4/2020: These are all out of order, but at this point, I don’t care. It feels weirdly thematic to be looking at these again in the grip of Covid hysteria and a growing body count. Maybe in 30 years, the entire country of the United States will be overgrown with animals roaming free again.
ED: 5/2020: Twice in 2 months?? New Template, new rules. NOW, it appears that there IS a read more link, so enjoy. also, maybe this new format will show the images better? There are still almost 700, so proceed with care.
I’m breaking this post up into multiple pages, I think, of ~100 images/page, because, DAMN, it was problematic to load.
So that was 3 days in Kiev. I should have taken a picture every night and again in the morning to better tell the story. Maybe next time. I was very alone, but it was nice anyway. I spent a bunch of time reading and drinking in cool spots when i wasn’t walking 20k steps a day. And Kiev has riverfront beaches!
