Emily pointed it out at the tip of the iceberg, but Im just now getting there.
Winamp has become incredibly unstable on my machine. And when Winamp goes, the whole system goes. It freezes to the point where the speakers freeze on the sound theyre playing so until my frantic, fat fingers find the reset button (no dice with CTRL-ALT-DEL), my computer is playing “wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?” with me.
So yeah. A new player. Its almost gotta be iTunes, but iTunes for windows sucks. Its a resource hog, its full of nagware and its huge. And it supports Apples corporate culture of “do what we tell you and shut the fuck up about it”. Foobar2000 needs too much from me before it doesnt suck. Im going to mess with it some more because if it doesnt crash Ill be happy, but I sort of doubt thats the answer either. And thats all I have experience with.
So tell me! Advise me! What music player should I use and why?
