I wanna know.
Do you feel affected by the writers strike? Are you getting less work? Watching less TV? Watching worse TV? Do you care about the fate of the poor, starving writers or the poor, choking studios? Do you just miss your late-night TV?
It seems to me that someone in a better position than I might be able to benefit immensely from this strike. Nows the time to write new deals, the time to forge new paradigms. I mean, reality-TV as we know it burst forth fully-formed from the head of the last strike, right? Whatever.
Someone like Relativity should step in and rewrite the rules. Someone with money, someone with connections and a large rolodex and, most importantly, vision. Television might still be under the sway of the studios because they effectively control the distribution arm, too. But movies? Maybe nows the time to approach AMC or Loews or whoever and convince them to break with their old ways. At least, try.
Clearly, Im not smart enough for this, but I feel like theres some potential here. If we were both still at RM, Id talk to Lynwood so hed be able to tell me how crazy I am being. Ill just imagine thats whats happened.
The topic still interests me: are you effected by the strike?
Poll follows the Read More link (its on the top right), but Im interested in comments and thoughts, too.
