I saw ALIEN in the theatre. Not the most important moment in my life or anything, but significant because the film was first released in 1979. I think it holds up better on the big screen (what movie doesnt?), but the 70s style of long shots and very little plot advancement still shines through. Call it audiences losing their attention spans, and Ill agree with you, to a degree. Weve gotten quite a bit more sophisitcated, though, too, and Id argue that we just need less time to absorb things now than we did then.
