Dragonfly

Dragonfly LogoOver 1000 updates from the Dragonfly database (the CMS that ran the site before I moved to Joomla).  Definitely expect some bugginess here, but the text is all here and searchable.  Woot to that.

What's slightly unbelievable is that it was the middle of 2009 before I moved off of Dragonfly.  For some reason (as I write this in the middle of 2011), it feels like I've been on Joomla forever.  Maybe that's a testament to the learning curve?  To the fact that I'm too enmeshed in version 1.5 after only 2 years to be able to move to 1.6 (or 1.7, now...)?  I don't know, but I do know that when I realized that I had started PCW before moving to Joomla my perspective on time shattered into a million pieces.

Madagascar 2: The one where they go to Africa

Just saw Madagascar 2. It was funny. Talking penguins make me laugh.

Back in the swing

On Friday, I started building a chest.

On Saturday, I drove to Vegas.

On Sunday, I drove back home.

Today, I continue my chest build.

More details: Friday night, I was itching to go out, so when Kieran called, I went to the Dime with him. Out till 2, I had to get up to drive with CJ, AF & LG to Vegas in time for the Michigan game on Saturday at 9am, which meant getting up and leaving by 430. yay for 2 hours of sleep. I napped from 4-6 on Saturday afternoon, then went over to Caesars to chill with Dave during the Bette Show. Afterwards, we went to a house party then to a ghetto bar and suddenly it was 530. Shit.

I missed the first 10 mins of the Eagles game, which didnt matter because they tied (who fucking ties?), and I had to watch 5 quarters. then I took the girls to do some shopping and myself went to visit RH for an hour or so. We finally got on the road at 4pm, just in time for the setting sun to make trouble.

Home at 800, there was just time to drop things off and leave again for WMs bday at... the Dime. So my weekend came full-circle. Now Im working and thinking about how Ill do the chests top and hinges. Also, I wonder how Ill age it.

Enough of this. Back to work.

Lost/Home Mix - THE METRIC PLAYLIST

So we get lost and what is the one thing we always think first? What would I have done differently? Hind sight is not exactly 20/20 but it sure does feel like it. Siouxsie and The Creatures give us a little diddy about slipping away. You lose your way and youre bound to forget how to get back or not a have a clue on what to do. You give up and fill your head with what ifs, but "if" Grandma had balls, shed be Grandpa. Dont let go or youll have to have that thought in your head for a very long time.

Keyless Entry

The Chrysler Dealer wants $80 for a Transponder key for my car, $150 for a new FOB and $50 to program the pair of them, and then the state of California wants tax on top of that. Can you imagine? "Thank god for the internet" is a phrase I utter every damn day.

The internet turned up Midwest Keyless, a company who will sell me a key fob for $40 with instructions on how to program it myself. So Im buying 2 for half the price that the dealer wants for one. Ill still have to go to the dealer for keys, I think, but Im going to search on that, too, because, damn, thats another car payment! And that was a lot of commas. Fuck commas.

What else? Its Friday. Im going to Vegas tomorrow morning. Im going to watch football, showgirls and football, and then come home. Fucking fun.

I just made the last payment on my car.

I did. I just wanted to make it known that by the end of the month (or the beginning of December), Ill have the title to my car in hand. Wow. Now, if i can only use that money every month to pay off other debts. Must focus on actually spending that money wisely.

But the thing to take away from this is that Im no longer paying on my car and Im happy about it. Insurance will get cheaper. W00t.

Fail, Eagles, Fail

So. Why is it that when the Eagles lose, they do it looking like an incompetent bunch of fools and when they win, theres nothing to say about it? 20 minutes of possession in a game? Pshaw.

Ah well. At least its Monday, right?

New President

Well, its happened. Congratulations to America for managing to elect someone with some promise. Thats a good thing. Californians cant say the same for ourselves, however, with Prop 8 mysteriously passing. I just hope is that everyone who voted to take something away from someone else loses something important to them this year. Preferably a limb. Or a sex organ.

Next post will be back to random irreverence on clapboard. Im sick of politics, and sick of not knowing why all sex blogs are written by chicks. Lets discuss that next time.

Voting day

Clapboards not usually a political blog, and it wont be tomorrow, but if youre a voter, go vote early tomorrow. Diebold will no doubt try to steal this election too and look out for swing states where the secretary of state is a Republican - the polls will look very wrong for those states by tomorrow night, mark my words. Heres to hoping that this time tomorrow, were taking our first step back towards respectability from the international arena, towards rationalism over fear and away from the hatred and divisiveness that has marred us for so long.

Good morning!

Whats up?

thought I was killing my blog like that guy from Wired blogged that I should do?

Ha!

Im just not updating very often, you see. Its much better that way. Then you always *think* its dead without actually having to go to a funeral. Besides, we have the rest of KKs list to get through. Ill at least wait for that - I have to have something to listen to, right?

Weekend. Eagles won. Michigan lost. No trips, not too much money spent (go me!). Football this afternoon too. Zach and Miri was fine. Uninspired, and probably better had it been a drama (I didnt think of that, but the guy who did was right), but nice to see a Kevin Smith movie that doesnt involve the Jersey Trilogy.

Time to take my over-punctuating ass to work now. Gotta make the money - credits no good.
